Begin the unit from text book, Chapters 1 and 2. (Harcourt Brace Social Studies, Grade 5 America’s Story)

the different Indian groups.
You can use this
TEMPLATE as a guide for students.
OR
ë Students can construct informational brochures for the different Indian groups.
ë Students should use the totem web page with handout to create and explain their creation of a totem pole for their family.

Activity:
Students can construct web pages to link to the sample
teacher page. These web pages
will display information that has been learned about homes, trade, food,
recreation, customs, beliefs, etc. of the Indian civilizations studied. Be
certain that all appropriate permissions have been gathered and posted.

used as an evaluation tool for student web pages.

Students can be directed to the

Students
may produce Indian “art”ifacts, stories, and information boards related to
