Technology Procedures
Acceptable Use Policy--All adults (teachers, support staff, and volunteers) and students should have a completed policy on file to be able to access any computer in the building for any reason (Internet, AR, STI, word processing, etc.).
Login--The person (student/teacher) using the computer should be the one logged in on that computer and should log off when finished. Students should never use a computer logged on as the teacher.
Teacher Passwords & Login--Students should not be given teacher password for any reason.
Students on the Internet--Students should be monitored or have an adult present while surfing the net.
Student Passwords--Students should not give other students their passwords. Staff shoul not let students have access to other students' passwords.
E-mail--Any time you type an e-mail, you should put "HCS" in the subject. E-mails without something in the subject should be deleted.
Home Page--The Internet on all computers in the building should be set to have our district site as the home page.
Turn Off Computers--All Computers except servers and some office computers should be properly logged off and shut down each day.
Software--Only legal copies of software should be on computers. One copy of software should only be on one computer.
