*To be eligible for hiring in an instructional support position (e.g. Instructional Assistant, Program Assistant) an applicant must meet one of the following:

1.      Completed two years (60 semester hours) of study at an institution of higher

         education; or

2.      Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or

3.      Met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local assessment (Kentucky Paraeducators Assessment), knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
